Dutching calculator

Free dutching calculator: enter the odds of the outcomes of one event and either the total stake or the profit you want, and get the stake on each outcome so that the return is the same. No sign-up; it all runs in your browser. For example, odds of 3.00, 4.00 and 6.00 on a stake of 100 return 133.33 and a profit of 33.33.

Finding surebets by hand takes too long. The Dozor scanner compares bookmaker lines and shows surebets with the stakes already worked out.

How to use the calculator

  1. Choose the number of outcomes of the event and enter the odds of each one: all from one bookmaker, or the best ones from different bookmakers.
  2. Choose the goal: a total stake or the profit you want, and enter the amount.
  3. Place the amounts from the table on each outcome: whichever of them wins, the return is the same.
  4. Keep in mind the case where none of the outcomes wins: the whole stake is lost.

How it is calculated

Dutching means betting on several outcomes of one event so that the return is the same whichever of them wins. The stake on outcome i equals return / kᵢ, and the return equals bankroll / Σ 1/k. If a target profit P is set, the return equals P / (1 − Σ 1/k). Example: 3.00, 4.00 and 6.00 → 1/3 + 1/4 + 1/6 = 0.75; with a stake of 100 the return is 100 / 0.75 = 133.33, the stakes are 44.44, 33.33 and 22.22, and the profit is 33.33. If Σ 1/k on the chosen outcomes is below one, a win on any of them brings a profit, but if none of them wins, the whole stake is lost. The same calculation across different bookmakers is called a surebet, and the surebet calculator does it.

What the calculator does not account for

  • The risk of losing the whole stake: dutching does not guarantee a profit if none of the chosen outcomes wins.
  • Bookmaker limits and its market settlement rules: a refund on a draw, a void bet, a shifted line.
  • Rounding: a bookmaker accepts stakes in set increments, so the real return differs slightly from the calculated one.
  • The commission is set in the settings as a single value for all outcomes.

When the same outcomes are priced at different bookmakers and Σ 1/k is below one, the profit does not depend on the result. The Dozor scanner shows such pairs in real time.

FAQ

How is dutching different from a surebet?

The formula is the same. In a surebet the outcomes are covered at different bookmakers and the profit is guaranteed if Σ 1/k is below one. In dutching the bets on several outcomes are usually placed at one bookmaker, and if none of the chosen outcomes wins, the whole stake is lost.

How do you split a stake across three outcomes?

Stake on an outcome = total stake × (1/k) / Σ 1/k. Example: odds of 3.00, 4.00, 6.00 and a stake of 100 give 44.44, 33.33 and 22.22; whichever of them wins, the return is 133.33.

How do you work out stakes for a target profit?

Choose the goal "Target profit": return = P / (1 − Σ 1/k), total stake = return × Σ 1/k. If Σ 1/k is not below one, that profit is unreachable, and the calculator will say so.
